Well, I've run about 30 at a time, but this number generally depends on the ram and CPU that you have available to handle the tasks.  So, unfortunately, there is not a clear answer to this..  Experimentation with a stop-watch is the key =)

I have 7 San Volumes I would like to backup to several other volumes using rsync and a cron job. Right now I do one then another.
