Threaded Discussion Site Widget
I've been working on a tool that utilizes a wildcard DNS'd URL, to create dynamically generated discussion forums. It is a site where anyone can go to both create and carry on threaded conversations, and optionally, archive/save the results in plaintext. Or, just go back to reference the conversation later at the site, as your custom URL is not likely to be found by others.For now, I've called it the "Thread Buddy". Here are some of the features:
• Active presence of peers
• Threads are refreshed when changes are made by peers
• View thread as plaintext
• User aliases
• Some anti-spam trickery
• Embeddable in remote pages (see below)
• Rss comment feed
• Click-through from from rss feed to comment/posting
Don't quite know the usefulness of this yet, but it's been tons of fun to code so far.
